DFW to Basel via LHR - clearing immigration & Customs

Jump to last reply

It's been a long time since we've had a connecting flight to a European destination so my memory is a bit hazy and I could use a refresher.

We are flying from DFW to Basel, Switzerland with a flight change at LHR - DFW / LHR on AA and LHR / BSL on BA (AA Code Share) and on our return AMS / LHR on BA (AA Code Share) connecting to an AA flight LHR / DFW.

For both directions, will we be able to check our luggage all the way through to our final destination (BSL outbound and DFW on the return) or will we have to claim and recheck luggage at LHR. Also, will we have to clear immigration and/or customs at LHR or do it just at BSL and DFW?

Thanks!
