DFW connection

Flying American ticketed from Seattle to Guadalajara this Sept. Have 58 min in DFW to make connection to GDL flight. How can we make the most of this short time? Is aircraft still obligated to wait for us? What about checked luggage? I'd hate to have to go back to claim luggage in Guad from our home an hour away. Appreciate your educated opinions and tips. Thanks.

" Is aircraft still obligated to wait for us?"

Not quite sure where you heard flights wait for late passengers. Now - it does happen now and then but usually when there are operational reasons to delay the next departure, not for delayed passengers.

Re misdirected/delayed luggage -- most airlines get the luggage to you in your location, and you don't have to travel to a distant airport.

As long as you are on one ticket you are protected -- and if you miss the connection they will put you on the next available flight.

BUT I wouldn't fret too much right now - in the current scheme of things September is eons away. it is very likely one or both of your flights will be rescheduled (or. even cancelled) in the next 3 months.

I think you have to change terminals, but it likely is still okay as long as the incoming flight is on time. Can you reserve a seat toward the front to improve your chances? I would worry more about yourself than your checked luggage, but be sure to bring essentials in a carry on.

Weather can be factor that time of year around Dallas, also. Make sure you know what happens if you miss the connection.
