Delta, USAir or Southwest?

I regularly fly with Delta but have gotten fed up - they have been at least 45 mins late or have cancelled every flight I've been on in the past 8 months. Will be flying into NYC in November. On a quick look, the three choices I can afford so far are Delta stopping in Atlanta, USAir stopping in Charlotte, and Southwest stopping in Chicago, all arriving LaGuardia. Choices? Suggestions? Comments? Thanks.

From where are you flying?

Don't forget there's also Continental into Newark.

SWA doesn't actually fly into LGA - it's on ATA equipment, with some codeshare agreement between the two airlines. The ATA from Midway to LGA is fine, but I'm not sure what it's like making the SWA - ATA transfer.

Flying out of Montgomery, AL if I take Delta or USAir - looks like I can also take Northwest. Out of Birmingham if I take Southwest. Thanks for the tip about the ATA equipment.

CO flies BHM-EWR non-stop twice daily with 50-seat ERJ-145.

I should warn you that I am obsessed with US Air...

That said, I fly the La Guardia route via Charlotte a couple of times a year, and it has always been a breeze. In fact, I will be doing it again at the end of the month!

The airport itself (CLT) is very easy to maneuver--much smaller than Atlanta--and yet still has plenty of amenities (shops, restaurants) if you need them during your layover.

Have fun no matter which airline you choose!

I would agree with the above poster - Charlotte is a nice, easy airport to get around in, and is not nearly as prone to delays as Atlanta. (LaGuardia of course is another story).

To me, Chicago would seem a bit out of the way. I'd go with Charlotte.
