Delta to Dublin
 

We are pricing tix for a March flight into Dublin and out of Shannon. We have done this trip multiple times but always on Aer Lingus.

The Delta plane is smaller, a boeing 757-200, where Aer Lingus is an Air Bus 330. Food is served on both. We usually have free in-seat entertainment on AL - does Delta provide this on transatlantic flights?

I am just having a hard time justifying the $300 difference (for the pair of tickets) to fly Aer Lingus. (I will add that we flew Continental on the smaller plane to Scotland a couple of years ago and it was fine.)

Delta has many versions of 757-200s. Of the ones that has BusinessElite seats across the Atlantic, there are at least two versions. One of them have AVOD on every coach seat while another type does not have personal video screen. Not sure what one they use for their Irish routes or if it's random.

Personally prefer smaller Boeings better record more stable

especially if $300 cheaper...

Airbuses having issues now seats smaller more flimsy/creaky

A330 is one of the most reliable aircraft with no issues whatever.

Seats are ordered by airline. Have nothing to do with the airframe manufacturer. Plus 2-4-2 on a A330 is definitely more comfortable for the passenger than 3-3 on a B757.

Not sure about specific planes but I flew out of Dublin in December (flying through the US to Canada) and the plane did not have in-seat entertainment.
