Delta seat assignments

I booked my fall trip from Houston to Rome last month and since then the aircraft has been changed and the airline changed our seat assignments. Alas, an aisle seat turned into a window seat and when I try to change my seat assignments, it will only show my domestic flight segments, which are fine, but won't let me get to the seating chart for the international legs. All the legs are shown, but when I click the Rome to Atlanta segment, it just shows Atlanta to Houston. Am I doing something wrong??

This may be because it is on a former Northwest plane. The two systems aren't fully aligned, so expect some growing pains with things like this. I would call and see if an agent can help you sort it out.

You should be able to select seats on a Delta flight using Northwest equipment. Perhaps there's another reason. Can you still see the former flight/equipment on your itinerary? If so, it may need to be cleaned up.

My flight is not a NWA plane or flight. It's very strange.

I've had this happen numerous time with Delta. My understanding is that the flight that was changed (the one that you can't select seats for) must be reticketed or otherwise cleaned up by an agent before you'll be able to use delta.com to change seat assignments. I was told they usually wait until about 1 month prior to the flight to do this, but you can go ahead and call now and ask them to clean it up. If it's a few months out though, there's a good chance the flight will change again and you'll have to call again.

Yes, happened to me too. And the same happened when I tried to change my parents' seats.

Maybe if you call Delta technology department to tell them their website is not working they can do something for you? Not an agent, but computer guys.

I called Delta this afternoon and they fixed my seat assignments. Of course, I'll be logging into delta.com this evening to doublecheck everything is correct and then on a regular basis leading up to my flight to make sure nothing else has changed. In addition to changing the aircraft model and seat assignments, they also moved up the international flight departure by an hour, so I have less time to make my connection. Hope they don't move it up any futher or I'll be in real trouble (now I'm down to 1:55)

Delta IT is well aware of the problem but there are hitches in being able to let people "accept" the changes without an agent looking at the record. So nothing has been done yet.

In the meantime, simply call or email Delta and they will generally "clean up" the record quite readily.

I had booked my seat assignment when I made the reservation on Delta to Honolulu and was very happy with my choice, aisle, forward as possible (DANG! those premium seats now) About a month ago, I for no real reason, brought up my booking on the Delta website. I found that my good seats had been changed to the very back by the lavatory, YUCK. There was no place to click to reserve or change seat assignments in my record. I HAD to call India, UGH !!!!!!! (I detest those call centers!) I muttled through the call and got the seats changed. The aircraft had not changed, I was never given any explanation. It was just fate that I looked when I did when there was still some good seats available. I now check my record often.

hpeabody,

I have bad news for you,... you didn't call India. Delta closed down it's offshore call centers over a year ago. Now you might have called Atlanta and our accents down here can sound foreign to others LOL!

To the OP. Pick up the phone and call. Probably going to get you much better results then the posts on here will.
