Delta or Continental to Italy in February?

Hi everyone! We are flying to either Rome or Milan in the low season and we would appreciate any help in choosing between Delta and Continental.

- Both offer about the same price
- Both offer non-stop flights
- Delta flies 767's (2-3-2 configuration)
- Continental flies either 767's (2-3-2) or 777's (3-3-3 with personal screen)
- I flew Delta last year to Italy, also in the low season, and it was quite acceptable. Flight was almost full, service was OK, seats were OK, seat-configuration was very good. However, since Continetal has won so many awards, I was wondering if they would be better? Also, Continental seems to fly every day, would that result in flights being less full? Thank you for your input!

Mariarosa, I don't fly Continental any more. Enroute to Ireland, I got stuck in the Newark Airport for 12 hours because of mechanical trouble with the plane that was to carry on to Ireland and they made us wait until another plane came from Las Vegas. Then on the return flight from Ireland I got food poisoning on the Continental flight. Needless to say these two episodes were enough for me to ban Continental. I go to Europe often (I have family there) and choose either Delta,KLM or British Airways.

We used Continental 17 times this year only and would recommend this reliable company any time.

I fly both airlines frequently. I would recommend Continental over Delta anyday. Very good customer service with Continental. I have been delayed more often with Delta than Continental. Continental does have a younger fleet of plances as well.
Have a wonderful trip!

Thank you for your feedback! Evelyn, that does sound like a terrible way to start and end a vacation. Delta's customer service last year was pretty good. The weather bureau forecasted that a storm was coming on Sunday (which is when we were supoosed to depart). I called Delta Saturday morning and they switched me to the Saturday flight, no charge. I might give Continental a try, just to see what they are like, since their planes are new.

Anyone else has any info?
