Delta FF Question

Yesterday I used 180,000 Delta miles for 2 business class tickets on Air France. LAX/GVA. We were ticketed Business Class on the LAX/CDG leg but there was NO Business Class available on the short CDG/GVA flights.
Does Air France hold those back? The very nice Delta rep said to call back to her every month to see if anything had opened up. Has anyone had this happen and is there a solution? Thanks

I've had this happen while using DL SkyMiles to fly business class on AF. The business seat for my inter European leg never opened. It was not a big deal as business class was nothing special and the flight was short. My main focus was the trans atlantic portion. Enjoy AF, I like their revamped business class.

Thank you mjz kc. You are right, it is no big deal for an hour and 10 minute flight but the last 3 trips on Air France with connections in Paris we were always in business class. Maybe they have changed the rules. Of course, the LONG flight is more important. I just wanted to know if calling every month would help. I will post again if that does help.

Calling back won't hurt, if you mind spending that time doing it.

I don't think I'd waste my time calling about business class on any inter-Europe trip, let alone for such a short hop. It's not a lot like the U.S. first class, just seating in the front of the plane with the center seat blocked.

And slightly better food.

Yippee Skippee. I just called Delta and they put both of us in the Business Class section on Air France. It means we can now go to the Air France Lounge in Geneva. Our train gets us there quite early so it is a more pleasant wait.

Congratulations; your efforts have paid off.

I would just like to say how much I love it when posters come back to report on the outcome of a situation -- especially a happy ending.
