Delta comfort economy seats

Has anyone paid for this upgrade on international flights? Is it worth the extra price? There is more leg room and much more reclining room. Sounds good to me but I'd love to hear an opinion from some who have experienced it. Thank you.

I've flown it once.

It is what it is. If you find yourself normally wishing for more legroom or more recline, then it is probably worth it. You also get free hard alcohol (only beer and wine are free in the rest of the cabin).

All in all, I think it is a nice little step up from the normal coach cabin, but it is still coach. I'm Platinum and get it for free, so I do confess that I haven't put much thought about whether it is good value were I to pay for it.

FYI - some of the bulkhead seats in the section have miles of legroom.

Not on Delta have done them on BA and AF bout

1 and 1/2 X a regular coach seat go for it or

better pay or use points for a biz class upgrade.

Just to be clear - the AF and BA product are very different. Separate cabins. Different seats. The DL product is more in line with KLM's economy comfort or UA's economy plus.

Thank you for your responses. I will pay the extra cost since I hate flying in a normal coach seat for a long international flight. I agree that bulkhead or exit row seats are the best but so difficult to secure for an infrequent flyer.

skye5 -- what's the price differential for Ecomonmy Comfort?

Kay2 Aug 28th, 2011 06:58 AM

On an upcoming flight ALT-AMS, DL is offering for just under $100 extra each way.

Good to know as I'll be booking MCI - VNE and FCO - MCI in the near future. Thanks for the reply.

We did last June from Ansterdam to the states and loved it. You get to board directly after business and you get off right after business. As my husband says, an extra 6" can make a real differnce in many things. It did! I could cross my legs, people didn't constantly walk by you because you are in the front and if you have a tight change you are off the plane so much earlier and in line at customs first. I think it is well worth the money.
