No, the A380 doesn't have that range.
Currently, the longest range passenger jet is the A340-500. Singapore uses it on SIN-LAX and SIN-EWR, up to about 18 hours each leg. Air Canada and Emirates also have that plane, but their routes are shorter, and so will Thai's. SQ put better "executive economy" seats on theirs, which are wider and with more legroom. If one's flying between Singapore and LA/NYC, then the non-stop is definitely the better way to fly.
The longest range jet being built is the Boeing 777-200LR. First ones will fly next year for Pakistan International. That plane barely has enough range for LHR-SYD, according to Boeing's website. But it's unclear if it can do that both ways, year-round, with no load penalty. Plus, none of the following airlines have ordered it - Qantas, Virgin, British Airways. So, I guess we won't see LHR-SYD non-stop in the near future.
