Contact Lens Fluid on carry-on
I'm going to Italy in a week. I read, somewhere in my past - that contact lens fluid was one of the only fluids that you could carry on that could be more than 3 oz.
Anyone know anything about this? We're flying Delta. |
Yes that is true--but it's a TSA rule, so the airline doesn't matter. I have been told to put it (and any liquid meds) in a second quart bag.
|
It's allowed as I understand the rules. However, what really matters is how the TSA agent you have to deal with understands the rules.
|
Yes, contact lens solution can be carried in hand baggage in sizes larger than the 3.3 oz limit that applies to other things. See http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtrav...rial_1059.shtm
If you are worried, print out the pdf of the TSA memo and carry it with you. |
Thanks!

Don't know what brand you use, but some come in 2oz travel size. For example, I use Clear Care, and they come in 2oz x 2. Good enough for 2 weeks.

I am not sure what you mean by contact lens fluid..do you mean the fluid the new lens comes in..(if you carry extra lenses)..Or do you mean Saline solution. ?...my problem too.
|
Saline solution. But I think it's OK as pr the link Seamus gave me above. IT's under "Medical Conditions" which I guess can mean wearing of contact lenses too?
