Connection Time at Zurich Airport
I've done my share of connections though usually through Frankfurt and Munich. I'll be connecting in Zurich for the first time in a couple of weeks and am clueless about the airport and how quick and easy it is to get from one spot to the next.
I'll be flying from Düsseldorf to Zurich arriving at 11:15am, connecting to a 1:00pm flight to the New York. All flights will be in Business Class on Swiss. I am assuming that I have more than enough time but would love some reassurance or advice. Thanks! |
You'll have plenty of time for the connection, and a quick visit to the nice lounge. But because the lounge is before the passport control, a train ride and security for US, you have to leave a little bit of time for those, and can't stay at the lounge till last minute.

Relatively speaking, I've found Zurich Airport to be 'smaller' or closer between terminals.
Just my gut feel. http://www.zurich-airport.com/deskto...aspx/tabid-31/ Check it out, as Joe Bob says. |
The last time I flew through Zurich it took me all of 25min to get from my arriving plane (feet out the door) to my departure gate. That includes immigration & security. It's much smaller and easier to navigate than Frankfurt or Munich.

That flight was incoming from the US, connecting on to Germany. I didn't fly back to the US via Zurich.

Zurich airport is much smaller and faster than Frankfurt, and about equivalent to Munich.
You'll arrive at Terminal B, where, as rkkwan says, you'll have access to the Swiss lounge. You'll then need to go through passport control and take the brief train ride to Terminal E, where you go through security for U.S. flights. There actually is a lounge available to you in Terminal E (called Belavia or something similar, IIRC) -- it's a shared lounge on the 2nd floor -- not exactly a haven, but better than nothing. However, you this lounge is outside security, so allow enough time. |
Thank you all.

You should be fine. Security is now street-side as opposed to air-side, so you should not have to go through it again, once you come in from your DUS flight to connect to the USA.
IF you do have to pass through their security, they have a separate (faster) line for business and first class passengers. |
Flying over, I get into Zurich at 8am and my connection to Dusseldorf isn't until 12:25pm. Any suggestions on which Lounge I should head for?

You can probably go to the lounge on the second (top) floor of the area with shops and duty free. It is two floors. It is a comfortable but busy * alliance gold/Swiss lounge.
