Complimentary wine/beer in coach on DL/NW, TATL & TPAC

Yes, that's right. Distilled pirits aren't included, but Delta (and Northwest, which is merging with Delta) is now serving complimentary wine and beer in coach. Delta had been offering a single alcoholic beverage with meals on these flights for several years, but this is an improvement. I usually only have one glass of wine on a flight, but since I don't eat the meal I prefer to have it before meal service, and until recently either had to pay for it (and then skip the later free drink) or just wait (and thereby lose time that I could be snoozing).

Did you also notice the 60,000 FF flights to Europe on Delta/NWA have dried up in the last week? It seems most everything is 75,000 now.

I haven't been looking at TATL award flights recently, kybourbon, but did just book a TPAC award flight for Jan 2010 for which I was able to find skysaver awards in business/first without much difficulty.

What time period are you looking at? There aren't usually many saver awards for summer (as you know, of course) and there's high demand for them, so they may just all have been used.

Before last week there were all kinds for September through May. Now I don't see any except for dead of winter.

I'm sure Wally will find the free booze thread.

This makes sense - pack us into planes like sardines - at least then they will medicate us with alcohol so we don't mind as much. If they offered 2 free drinks they probably would try to take away another 3 inches of leg room - free valium, 6 inches.
