classica economy alitalia
this is our first vacation together in 6 years since we started our rental biz in Costa Rica.
I am not a wuuz, but wondering if anyone has flown "classica economy : on alitalia. It is about $250 extra on their non stop flight to Rome from Miami, but does sound inviting. I am wondering if we will be ok for 10 hours in economy. We are in good shape, but both 64. Thanks if anyone has flown this airline and has some experience in economy or classica. economy.

AZ's premium economy is called "Classica Plus". Classica is just their name for regular economy. Premium economy is 7-abreast on the A330 and 8-abreast on the B777, compared to 8- and 9- in regular coach. And more legroom and recline, as expected.
Nobody can tell you if it's worth it to you. Everyday, tens of thousands of people took 10-15hr flights in regular coach, and most of them survived.

I'm not sure I understand your question.
Classica is Alitalia economy on the A330. All other equipment call it economy. I went through all their planes.
Look at both www.seatguru.com and www.seatexpert.com and you will see that it's essentially back of the bus.

You have to go to their website to see this classica economy. Thanks for info. This is plane not listed on seatguru. I will look up seatexpert too. Think I will go for the cheaper economy...
Guess I think i am not like all those other 10's of thousands... thanks for info.

I think everyone here is a little confused.
"Classica economy" is standard economy as many here have said.
On the Alitalia web site, there is a "classica plus" which is what the OP is talking about. About $250 more than regular economy. It has the following attributes
Dedicated priority check-in
2 bags of 23 Kgs
Priority boarding
On board services
A cosier, noiseless cabin section, with 21 more comfortable seats: they are ergonomic and recline to 120°, offering 20% more leg room than in the Economy class.
45 movies and real-time news screened on our new 10.6 inch screens; new generation noise isolating headphones.
USB port to recharge your laptop and upload the digital contents of your laptop or MP3 player on the in-flight entertainment system.
Individual telephone with satellite technology.
Hot meal and snacks, or breakfast, depending on your flight’s departure time and destination; in addition soft drinks or warm ones, and fine wines selected of the most important Italian wine producers.
And as of August 2011, savour the Italian tradition with our espresso coffee.
For your flight comfort, blankets, pillows and a travel make-up bag designed for you.
For $500 more round trip I would go for this in a heartbeat if I was going to fly Alitalia.
