Hi, working out some final details with husband for his trip to China.

He is traveling China Eastern there and Air China home. He is also traveling from Shanghai to Beijing on China Eastern. Company travel agent not been super helpful.

Read that carry-on's have very low weight allowance of either 5 or 7 kg (11-15 pounds) depending on where in airline literature it says. Do they check your carry-on's weight?

None of his seats were assigned by travel agent. Can we do this ahead of time?

Anything other tips for these airlines most appreciated.

For domestic, no. Only at airport check-in.

it is not so strict to check the weight of luggage inside China.
china eastern airline is a good air company.
