Child one way ticket

I want to reserve a RT open jaw ticket from ORD to BIL and JAC to ORD for my son and a one way ticket for 11 YO grandson from JAC to ORD to travel back to Chicago with his DAD. I often book my own airfares but can't figure out how to do this. Can someone please help me?

First go to www.kayak.com or your favorite travel website and look up options for ORD - BIL and JAC to ORD using the multi-city itinerary option. You'll also find that same option on airline websites like Northwest and United. A quick glance on kayak shows that the open jaw ticket is $247 for a random day 1mo from now, with one stop in Minneapolis each way.

You may find that a one way ticket JAC to ORD is higher than a round trip. If that's the case then just book the round trip with some arbitrary date in the future and he won't use the return.
