Chicago MDW info, please

Flying into MDW on 11/1 (Thurs) on Southwest. Hopefully will arrive MDW on time at 7:15am - right!

Flying out of MDW on ATA at 9:35am. However, Southwest & ATA must be the same because I booked all via Southwest website.

So, does anyone know if the Southwest & ATA gates are close together?

Does this airport have a lot of terminals & we may have to "run" from one to the other & go thru security & all of that mess?

Thanks, Julie

ATA and SW share a common security area.

Why do you doubt on-time arrival for 7:15? First flights of the day are more likely to be on-time as the planes are already on the ground, waiting overnight.

Airlines always want to get a good start to the day. I've been on several 6am flights that push back 10min early just to give crews at the destination more turn-around time.

You have over 2hrs

Midway is a very small airport. It is nothing like O'Hare.

You will have no trouble.

And tons of good food, nothing like a potbelly sandwich for breakfast! You should have plenty of time to get breakfast.

Julie - Southwest owns part of ATA so they pretty much operate seamlessly, even though they're legally separate entities. Connections between the two are pretty easy so you should have more than enough time. MDW is easy to navigate.

BTW - there's been a number of reports (unconfirmed by SWA at this point) that when SWA begins international service, they're going to do it through ATA, at least initially, since ATA already has several long routes with planes that can service them.

Thanks everyone. Good info to know.

I didn't know that SWA "may" begin international travel. Their domestic prices are usually low; maybe their int'l will too!

ATA already flies internationally, to several destinations in Mexico.
