cheapest US to Hong Kong flight
Does anyone know what US airport would have the cheapest flights to HK? I live in New Orleans...and I am trying to find a secondary city from which to leave.
thanks |
New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco would be your best bets. Chicago, maybe?
|
China Air out of San Francisco....you have to change planes in Taipei both ways...When are you traveling? I have a friend going at the end of August and he booked thru a travel agency in China Town for $725.00, tax/title/license...

From LAX you can usually fly to HKG for less than $700.

Singapore Air flies from Vegas to HKong - check out their fares......
|
SIA has suspended its HKG-LAS service for a while.
In general, the cheapest fares from the US to HKG are from Northwest, Korean Air or China Airlines. Each of those would require at least two change from MSY. Cathay (from LAX & SFO) and Singapore (from SFO) are both renowned for their service, and you seldom get the best price from them. United often cost a little bit higher than NW, but you should be able to get to HKG via Chicago, with just one stop. Or Continental via Newark (5 days a week), though they are usually a little more expensive than UA or NW. |
Right now I notice very low fare from Chicago to Hong Kong on www.iace-usa.com
Less than $600 plus tax of course. Check it out. It listed the dates these fares are available, but I don't remember for sure. Good luck. |
We found good prices on Continental. However, many of the tourist prices we see have limits, such as the round trip must be completed within 30 or 60 days. I would suggest you look for one of the student travel sites, rather than the tourist travel sites. I think they come up frequently if you follow the appropriate forum at
http://eurotrip.com for a while. |
