changes and cancellations
Are there any airlines that have refundable
tickets or you are able to change a name? (besides Southwest)? I want so badly to plan a trip but am not positive it will work for me. |
Every airline sells refundable tickets. You have to just request a "Full Fare" ticket. They are usually much more costly than "Restricted Fare" or "non-refundable" tickets.
|
Most airlines sell refundable "full fare" tickets most of the time. But there are exceptions. For example, Continental doesn't sell full-fare refundable tickets to many Central and South America destinations for the winter months of Northern Hemisphere.
|
Just to clarify, if you have to cancel your travel plans a Full Fare ticket is fully refundable, in other words if you have to cancel your trip you get your money back.
Restricted Fare tickets are non-refundable but you can change your dates of travel if you are willing to pay a change fee (usually $100 per ticket). In this case, you don't get a refund if your plans change but you can use the ticket on a differnt date. |
Correct. And while you can change the dates and even itineraries of a non-refundable tickets (after paying a change fee), the name stays.
