Cell Phone thru Security

Do you put your cell phone in your carry on bag? Do you put it with your computer? Which is safer? This is the first time I've had an "expensive" phone so a little worried about it going through security at the airport and arriving at the end when I put up everything else. What do you do? Thanks.

I do what the agent tells me -- some airports demand it be in the bin, some let you leave it in your bag - and if you have pre-check or not matters as well.

I've always put mine inside my personal item. Never had a problem.

I leave mine in my purse/tote bag, never been asked to take it out, never had a problem.

The biggest danger is that you will forget it at security, not that it will be stolen. I leave mine in my bag unless TSA makes me take it out.

I use my iPhone to display my boarding pass, so it has to be out for the TSA ID checker at the head of the security line. Once past the ID checker, I put it in the outside zippered pocket of my carry-on or personal item. I've never been asked to take it out of my bag.

Not a big issue. You can keep your cellphone. I always keep with me.
