Cathay Pacific vs. Thai Airways, Hong Kong to Bangkok

I am tossing around the idea of flying Business Class during an upcoming trip from Hong Kong to Bangkok in July.

The prices for Cathay and Thai are pretty similar for the times I'd like to travel. Can anyone share their experiences in Business class on either of the airlines; it would be great if you have flown this route before.

What I would be interested in is: ease of checkin, lounges pre-flight, onboard service, comfy seats?

Thank you in advance for your thoughts and comments.

I did BC on Cathay LHR-HK- SYD and we had the new product on the london leg, which we didnt care for at all. Although it is a fully flat bed, we felt like battery hens in the seated position.
The older style was fine and the food/service was very good. I am not sure however if the HK to BKK leg is classed as regional rather than international?
Lounge at HK is fantastic and check in was very easy. For me it would be down to price as HK to BKK is not that far.

Really really check CX's schedule to see what aircraft they put on the flight you want.

If it's a 330-200, a 777-200 or a 777-300 (non-ER), then they have the regional business class seats that most people think are below average.

Thank you for your input!

Smeagol, I believe the Cathay flights are "regional" flights.

Rkkwan- the equipment on that route for CX is all these of the planes you listed below. I think TG is the way to go. I am not a fan of below average!
