Carry-on TWEEZERS?

Taking AA to Buenos Aires. What about tweezers in the carry-on?
Is there a special kind that is allowed?
Mine are angled at top & quite sharp so I'm a bit concerned.

I finally had mine confiscated at SJU. It really all depends on the screener, but it's likely they'll be taken if they're in your carry on.

According to the current permitted/prohibited items list on the TSA website, tweezers are allowed in a carry-on, but this list is only applicable for flights originating in the US. I've had tweezers in my carry-on a number of times recently and they have not raised any concerns at screening.

TSA enforcement on items varies a lot from airport to airport. I had three TSA reps arguing over a lighter that my husband uses to light cigars (nasty habit, but good example). One said it had to be checked, one said it could be carried on if all the fluid was expelled, the third said it was fine as is......the twenty minutes they spent debating the issue was ludicrous.

My suggestion is to get a cheap pair of tweezers for your travel bag if you must go carry on only. That way you don't care what happens. Otherwise take your preferred pair along but check them so you don't risk loosing them or having them delay you.

I had to put my tweezers in my checked luggage at Heathrow. That was 2 months after 9/11 however.

I have had tweezers taken on two occassions- the second time I forgot I had them!

I hope I don't get 'flamed' for this but with all the security going on I would leave your Tweezers at home and just but another froma shop when you reach there. I think we should all make the piont/effort of not making the Security agents jobs harder than they already area.

Tweezers and nail clippers are OK.
