Carry-on restrictions at Heathrow

I've done a search but cannot find the info.

Where is the one-bag restriction? Ticket counter, gate, security?

Has anyone actually had or seen luggage refused at the airplane gate, or other, because of size, weight, or number? ((*))

Security checkpoints. Yes, I've read quite a few reports of passengers getting turned away.

You didn't look very hard - go to the Heathrow Airport website which is confusingly called www.heathrowairport.com and click on the big yellow link titled "Prepare for checkin" where you would find "Each passenger may take only ONE item of hand baggage through security control."

Airports BTW don't normally concern themselves with weight, only size and quantity

But some airlines are concerned with weight so you should check with your carrier(s).

yes, when i was there this past march i saw them turn a woman away. i thought for sure they didnt really mean it when they said only one carry on since all my other travel experience has been where you get one carry on and one personal item. If anything was even slightly questionable in size they would put it in that little metal thing to check its size. if it didnt fit, youre outta luck!
