Carry-on bag size question...linear inches?

I'm flying Hawaiian Airlines and their carry on size limit is 22-14-9 or 45 linear inches. I have a carry-on bag that is 22 inches high including wheels, 7 inches deep and 15 inches wide at the bottom, but is only 13 inches wide at the top. All total it adds up to under 45 linear inches, but is 15 inches going to be too wide?
The bag is actually called the "Samsonite Carry-on Spinner". We've brought it on board Hawaiian before but I know the airlines have been really strict about carry-on bags lately. I didn't bring it last trip but saw many other people bring bigger bags than mine on board seemingly without a problem. Any insight?

As Hawaiian allow the use of linear inches (which could mean a bag 43x1x1) then they should accept it as hand luggage

Thank you. I noticed after posting that this question it seems to be a running theme here. I'm sure we will be fine, but I really don't want them to gate check it. Hawaiian loads back to front and we are in the middle so hopefully we will get bin space.
