can not Refund Turkishs airlines with another credit card or cash

I bought the domestic flight tickets of Turkish Airlines with my American bank account. and now i left The States so i canceled my bank account before i left the country. then I realized I couldn't make it to the trips in Turkey (Istanbul - Bodrum for round trips tickets) anymore. so I went to The Turkish Airlines Head Office in Taksim Square (Istanbul) to do cancellation and refund. Staffs there canceled my flights but I have to call to the Call Center for refund since I dont use that bank account anymore.

So i called I had to talk to many call center took me an hour for waiting and I talked to them just few mins. 1 staffs from customer service said I have to go back to the office that I canceled my flights and I could get a refund money in cash. I went back to the office next day in the morning. I talked to staffs there and they said I need a paper from Bank in America to confirm that I used to have that bank account and now I closed but Bank of America can not do anything. This bank doesnt do any paper and send to customers with Email. even can not do anything after the customers closed the bank account because they dont have enough information about customers to verify the bank account! so it mean I CAN NOT get any paper from Bank of America.

I called back to Turkish Airlines Customer Service to ask any other solution could they do or I could do to get my money ( 561 Liras, 8,404 Thai Baht, 260 US Dollars or 195 Euros) back. But they dont have any other solution. I can only have the same bank account or get a prove paper from bank account or... I lost my money... which mean I LOST MY MONEY

THIS TURKISH AIRLINES has really AWFUL customer services. They dont know how to find other solutions for customers to keep customers feel happy to traveling around the world with

so I would recommend to you who are reading this... dont buy ticket from this airlines staffs are not really nice in the airplanes. They dont have service mind which mean they should not be the flight attendance and customer service since they can not find any other way to solve the problem while other airlines could do the refund with money... They should not be the 3 biggest airlines in Europe anymore

HIGH RECOMMEND DO NOT BUY TICKETS AND FLY WITH TURKISH AIRLINES

Oh, no, BEWARE TURKISH AIRLINES. Terrible service, OP cancelled the bank account and now needs it for the refund. It must Turkish Airlines fault.

Is there a silly travel issues virus going around? Or have I just begun to notice silly travelers?

If they can't give you a refund in cash, can they not give you a credit towards another ticket? It's not TK's fault that you closed your bank account, nor is it their fault you had to cancel your ticket.

I don't know any company that issues refunds other than to the original payment method. I'm sure you had your reasons for canceling the account but you cannot expect a company to make exceptions for every customer's personal whims.

There must be a segment of Fodor's members who join simply to get support for imagined mistreatment and supposed slights in the face of their own mistakes and uninformed choices.

We have flown Turkish before and were very pleased and their over all ratings are quite good. They are a four * ranked carrier so please don't expect anyone with common sense to believe this.

Your complaint should be with B of A. Do you not have any paper statements from them?

You can surely print out an email from them to verify you once had a account with them.

I think maybe you need someone with a better grasp of English to call B of A and explain this on your behalf. I just can't see them not be willing to send a letter or a detailed email about your former account.

I agree, it's not the airline's fault that you made the choices you did. Changing travel plans is usually costly and in this case the airline appears to be abiding by reasonable policies which are in place to protect it against fraudulent claims. Although this has been a time consuming annoyance for you it is not a huge amount of money. Ask for a credit for a future flight and if not successful, chalk it up to experience.

I had to cancel two different domestic Turkish flights last year and received prompt and full refunds into my credit card account. That wouldn't happen with a US airline.

"...i canceled my bank account before i left the country..."

The entire difficulty is the result of that one action on your part, faithyui, not even remotely Turkish Airlines's fault. I think the decent thing to do is to ask the editors here to pull this mean-spirited thread. I know, fat chance.

<<That wouldn't happen with a US airline.>> Yes it would, if you had purchased refundable tickets. If even if they were non refundable fares, you might receive a small refund on unused airport taxes.
