buying Paris tx
 

Ok, need to watch for flights to Paris in Feb. out of Asheville(nc) or Greenville(sc). Right now flights are $450-ish - taxes incl - My husband thinks this is good - I'm not so sure for that time of year and think prices should come down a bit more. What do you think?

I think you should re-title your post.I thought you were trying to buy Paris, TEXAS.....Didn't know it was for sale!

A lot of the great fares we read about are from major hubs, such as Newark/New York. You will also have the flights to and from the hub, and those fares are often not competitive, so I think a fare of $450 or so looks pretty good. While I believe fares usually go down further in the period from four to two months before the departure date, in this case I would also be concerned about increases due to higher fuel costs. Is the $450 found on only one airline or on many? If its only on one, it might be a sale, and its always good to buy during sales.

leah...it kind of is. taxes are about $100 right now, so that means you got app. a $350 fare. not bad, it won't get much lower than that ($20, $30 at most and it could go up another $300!!). take it, and enjoy the trip!

That is a good fare with taxes included and if I were in your shoes, I would lock it in. It will free you to plan the rest of your trip with the air itinerary set. There is not much potential for significant savings from that price point, but the chances for higher fares on the dates you want are real. Pull the trigger.

You made a right decission. In my opinion it is a really good price. Congratulations and have a great time in Paris. In November my husband and I are flying from Greenville, SC to Paris for our 21st visit. We just moved to this area and this is going be our first international flight from here. We too got a good deal.
We like both airports, Asheville and Greenville, for our domestic flights.
