Business Class on Iberia

Using AA miles, I have been booked into business class on Iberia from JFK to Madrid and then on to Athens. The transatlantic segment is on an Airbus 340, the European flight is on an Airbus 321-200.

Has anyone flown Iberia in business? Is it worth the extra miles?

Iberia's business class is fine, nothing to fancy or out of the ordinary. It is always worth the extra miles to fly business class due the space available rather than coach.

PonchotJ,
Thanks for the feedback.

I just posted this but it did not show. I will repeat. I looked at
Iberia's web site and it indicated that some of the perks (even on FF ticket) were private lounges and limo service to and from airports in Spain.

Opinions on Iberia's business class are all over the map recently. Some say they got excellent service, others say lousy. Seems a luck-of-the-draw thing. One thing for certain is that IB is revamping their business class and possibly doing away with first class altogether, so your comfort may vary depending on when you travel. The 340s appear to be receiving the makeovers first, so you could well end up with a bed-style seat, better than AA's business product for sure.

You might check out some of the threads on www.flyertalk.com, like this one: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=401522

Most people feel that IB's business service intra-Europe leaves much to be desired, but I can't think of any airlines who receive great praise for their business product inside Europe, for that matter. Note that MAD-ATH is a pretty long haul in a 321, so I would check out their seat maps carefully.

Bajaflash & Gardyloo:
Thanks for the input. I have had difficulty finding seat maps on the Iberia site and unfortunately seatguru doesn't feature Iberia. I will check out the flyertalk thread because I need to make a final decision ASAP.

I can't find seatmaps either (maybe under revision, maybe they're embarassed) but look here for more info: http://www.airlinequality.com/Product/Iberia-Ftr-1.htm
