Business Class-Korean Air or NWA

I will be using my FF miles to fly to Vietnam from NYC and have a choice of flying Business Class on NWA or Korean air. Can anyone tell me what airline would be better? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I've flown business from JFK to Asia on KoreanAir twice; last winter I flew them home from Saigon. Layovers in Seoul each time, of course.

I thought the experience was quite good, except for the food, which I would rate as "fair." The Korean food is much better than the western, in my opinion. Wine service leaves much to be desired and they are quite skimpy with drinks. But aside from those issues which may or may not be of interest to you, the flights were good, on time, comfortable, good personal entertainments systems, etc.

Let me know what else you want to know and I will do my best to answer..

I have taken NWA biz from LAX-NRT-BKK and PVG and the seats are quite comfortable, almost flat and the food is fine, not gourmet but good enough. Wine is also just ok. My friend was on Korean and also liked it but said their English skills were not great.

I took NW biz from SFO to BKK via NRT and thought is was pretty good and better than other US carriers. Plane was A330 with pretty comfortable flat seats (not a bed- they are at a very slight angle). The Asian food was quite good; western food ok. Lounge in Tokyo was nothing to write home about. I thought the service was pretty good, but not as good as Singapore or Qantas. Never taken Korean, so I don't know.

I'm highly impressed with the new NW lounge at NRT T1 over Satellite 2. In fact, I posted about it from one of the 20+ brand-new iMacs there to my Facebook page, and a couple of travel forums. It has sushi, soup, sandwiches, desserts; it has machines that pour beer with a nice head. It has views of the main runway.

It's probably the nicest "general" lounge (i.e. not exclusive for international first class) operated by any US carrier.

But of course, if one's used to lounges from foreign airlines, that's a different comparison.

I flew Korean Air twice JFK to China and Thailand. I was very impressed with the plane, and the service. The food was ok.

Thanks for the info. I ended up choosing Korean Air as they had better connections.
