Bumped by BA
 

I booked (and paid for!!!)business class tickets in July for Oct. 4 8:40am JFK/LHR flight on BA. Got call this morning (Oct. 3)that flight overbooked and we no longer have seats so must take the 8:20am flight. I had already checked in and got seats and boarding passes online. No good...must take the earlier flight or 6 pm flight. Amazed!!! Not happy! Need to change going and pick-up arrangements. Anybody ever had this experience?

The change of time is very small, especially for a longhaul trans-Atlantic flight. Your complaint is not reasonable.

For crying out loud woman, get a grip.

If you really think getting up 20 minutes earlier is worth getting het up about, you've got far bigger problems than your travel arrangements.

Use your extra time in London to google cognitive therapy.

Must be a typo, as no one gets wound up by having to get out of bed 20 mins earlier for a long haul flight. Look on the bright side you will probably sit on the tarmac for 20 minutes so your arrival time will be as originaly scheduled LOL

It is only a 20 minute difference, what is the big deal? I don't see why you can't still leave at the same time you already have planned.

More than likely you will be waiting more than an hour AFTER you pass through security and before you board the plane.

Also, even if your flight arrives on time, whats 20 more minutes waiting for your ride gonna cost you? Answer, 20 minutes!!! CHILL OUT!!!!

It is not a typo. BA has two dayflights JFK-LHR. One at 8:20a, a 777; the other 8:45a, a 747.

The OP should be annoyed a little, but should also realize it's not that out of ordinary for travel these days.

The only reason I would be distressed by this, is if I had been allocated my ideal seats and was given crap seats, however, I don't think I would ever be upset by Bus Class ---- except when I flew United SYD-LAX and was seated by the Galley. The crew decided that the Galley was the social club for the ENTIRE duration of the flight. So rude. However this was several years ago.

FYI-the galley is always the social club for any overseas flight especially in economy. On all of my flights it attracts the folks who want to stretch,chat about their holiday,drink,wait for the lavs or have something to eat in the middle of the night.

Yes, but this was the Business Class Galley - and I've never experienced this on a Qantas flight - Business or Economy. When the lights dim, the plane is silent except for the engine etc.

The thought of being on a plane with that might not be full is worth 20 minutes to me.
