Brussels or Austrian Airlines?
 

Hi,

I have the choice of using United codeshare partners Brussels Airlines or Austrian Airlines to return from Europe. Have never flown on either. Any recommendations? I'm using award miles, if that matters (flying in economy).

never used austrian.
used Brussels Airlinesexclusively for short trips.
I don't expect there should be a difference.

However..

Belgium being populated by extremely brilliant people, it is certainly so much better.

(must I say I'm Belgian ?).

Unfortunately, <b>S</b>auf <b>A</b>ccident, <b>B</b>ien <b>E</b>ntendu, <b>N</b>ous <b>A</b>rrivons makes no sense when speaking of Brussels Airlines.

Both are Lufthansa subsidiaries. But Austrian's longhaul 777 is 10 across and their 767 have tight 30" pitch based according to seatguru. I'd choose Brussels for the long haul for sure.

There's a pilot's hangout bar in the town of Zaventem decorated with model plane examples from defunct airlines. TWA, Pan Am, Flying Tigers, Sabena, Swissair, Eastern, there's quite a variety!

Should I say it is very common weisser ?
Lufthansa was said to be 'let us f. the hostess and never see again'

NASA was 'need another seven astronauts' or 'nous avions sept astronautes'.

Those weird acronyms (or whatever they are) have always been tedious and tiring to me.

Coming from another age ...
When Sabena was created it was the only company you could take in Belgium.
So they gave the name Societe Aeronautique BElge Navigation Aerienne.
Same applies to SNCB or F : Societe Nationale des Chemins de Fer Belges or Francais.
