British Airways sued over fuel surcharges on award tickets

A US District Judge has allowed a lawsuit brought by British Airways frequent flyers to proceed. The plaintiffs apparently argue that BA's fuel surcharges added to award tickets is not based on actual costs. Duh.

'Bout time.

This is fantastic news as BA's charges for "free" tickets are ridiculous. As I have mentioned on an earlier thread, BA will be the first carrier to offer non-stop service to Europe from my home city of Austin. I hope this goes our way so I can enjoy non-stop flights to London and beyond using my award tickets.

Thanks for posting this Gardy.

Good news indeed. Wonder if there will be similar action against Air Canada/Aeroplan.
