Bringing your own food question
 

I'm just curious, what happens if I bring peanuts or a peanut butter sandwich on a plane and another passenger is allergic and gets sick. Who is responsible? Also, I hear that American Airlines is not providing dinner on evening flights to Europe. Is that true?

wally.....dont know about the responsibility, but meal service has not been discontinued on evening flights to Europe over 4 hours in length..

If a person can get sick from another passenger eating his own peanuts, that he/she should be living in a bubble, and definitely not travel on planes. :D

Bring whatever you want to eat on a plane.

With the cut-back of food on many flights, yes it is o.k. to bring food on-board with you. Just as courtesy to the rest of the passengers, do not bring food that the odor of your food reaches passengers 2-3 rows behind you. I was on a flight recently and a passenger brought a hot tuna sandwhich that made the entire plane smell like fish, not pleasant at all. Stick to cold food and snacks.

Take M&M peanuts and try not to breathe on anyone after eating some.

If you have a prescription that you got in California for medicinal use of marijuana and you are flying to Oregon, which also allows for medicinal use of marijuana, is it ok to bring marijuana brownies on the airplane?

As a general rule, airlines advise any passenger allergic to peanuts that they can not guarentee other passengers will not bring peanuts (or anything else they may be allergive to) on board.

That said, if someone if allergic and it turns out to be a problem, the allergic passenger is usually the one reaccomodated.
