This story sounds a little 'fishy' but as this is not the first time we have heard serious complaints about Bravofly on this forum I'm inclined to believe you have been treated badly. Have you contacted your credit card company and asked them to cancel an unauthorized transaction?

It sounds fishy because it is fishy. Confirmation emails and booking numbers are only generated after purchase. Sounds like you wanted to back out of the transaction after purchase was made which was too late.

Well, it's a good warning to pay close attention as to whether any part of a reservation is refundable after booking. Many airlines and reputable travel websites also *sometimes* offer a brief cancellation without penalty window after booking--less than 24 hours, usually. This kind of detail is worth researching... before booking, ideally!

Dear BarSmith,

We are sorry that you have had cause to complain regarding your booking. Unfortunately the booking was confirmed on our side and we did not receive any notification of a cancellation request until your telephone contact the day after booking.

So far the airline has confirmed to us that the ticket is non-refundable but we will check again in light of the information you posted above and will be in touch.

Kind regards, Sofia

If Bravofly doesn't refund the money minus the cancellation fee that the airline says you owe then you can always put a dispute with your cc company.

Though this does sound strange there are multiple complaints about Bravofly.

Let's see if they help you.

Some interesting reading in the link you provided, jacketwatch. The OP's complaint is there, and also another one in which a Bravofly customer relates the identical problem as the OP: an attempt at an online booking, a message that the credit card isn't accepted, a click to cancel, later discovery that the flights have been booked, and no refund from Bravofly.

If you Google Bravofly reviews you will find a good number of links which have mostly neg. reports.
