I used to use Travelocity for convenience, but mainly when I wanted a ticket with two different airlines on it which was impossible to book on the airlines' own web site. I always got FF miles, they were regular tickets.

As far as I know, they are not a consolidator nor reseller, they are a travel agency, if you want to use that term, just online. They don't sell bulk fares, but regular tickets. The fares aren't any cheaper on the tickets I booked, the only reason I used them was for convenience, as I said.

NOw I will admit I don't use them any more (haven't for a couple years) because they redesigned the website in a way I didn't like which made it hard to search for fares. Then, when I was using them recently to check some fares, some weren't showing up I knew existed so I called them and asked what was up. Then they admitted that they don't actually list all fares any more, like they used to, that they are only allowed to sell certain times/routes by some airlines. The ones they listed were no cheaper than the airline itself, so I don't think they are a consolidator, but I do think they've changed their business strategy or something as that did not use to be their system. They used to list every flight that existed, and now they do not. So now I use Expedia which still lists them all, although I usually book at the airlines' own website.

Most flights through Travelocity do provide FF miles, but according to their own website, some don't. The lesson is to always check the fare rules when booking a ticket.
