Booking flights Ethiopia - Jordan
I may need to book a flight from Gondar in Ethiopia to Amman Jordan & I am not sure of the best way to do this! I usually like to book directly through the airline but I am not able to do this for this route through one airline or at least I cannot find a way. The best routing I see is Gondar - Addis-Dubai-Amman. May split the trip with a night in Addis. I could of course use Expidia or the like but I have never used one of these sites before as I say I have usually gone straight through the airline. Any hints appreciated! Thanks in Advance. I will also post this on the airline forum.

I have used Vayama.com several times for mixed flights like that in Africa and have never had a problem.

According to Ethiopian Airways, they have a direct flight.

Rasta I can't seem to get Ethiopian to give me Amman as an option?

Ethiopian doesn't fly to Jordan, so it's a two-change itinerary any way you cut it.

Let's take a different approach. If you fly from Gondor to Addis Ababa, you then have a gateway to other countries.
I've been to both Amman Airport (terrible website) and Addis Ababa airport website. I've been trying to see which airlines fly into both airports. What I've found are the following airlines: Turkish Airlines, Flydubai, Lufthansa, Austrian, KLM and Emirates. You are going to have to take one from Addis Ababa to where they might fly, and then on to Amman. It's a bitch, but I would start with the Middle Eastern airlines, as the distances won't be so great. Try dealing with one at a time to see how you can get what you want. Sorry, but it's the best I can think of. |
Thats exactly what I was coming up with Rasta so glad I am not missing anything :) The reason we are thinking of flying Gondar to Addis & spending one night & then heading out is that if we try to do it all in one day the layover in Addis is awful. Thanks for looking too bad I am not missing some great thing!
