Booking code for KLM Business award seats
Does anyone know the KLM booking code for international Business Class award seats, (to be booked through Delta with Skymiles)?
I want to check on ExpertFlyer for a flight from Atlanta to Amsterdam a week from today (12/24). I am currently booked on Delta, but I am considering changing to KLM if it is available, because I think the KL seats on the Airbus are better than the DL seats on the 767. Does anyone know the code, and does anyone have any thoughts about the seat differences? |
The booking class is D.
I actually don't like KL's angled flat seats because I tend to sleep better in DL's recliner type seats, but I know other people feel just the opposite. The KL seats are wider though and have AVOD whereas DL has not completed their refurb yet so you won't know if you're getting an aircraft with AVOD or not. |
Does EF support KL award classes? I don't see it listed under their participating carriers.

asiares.nwa.com shows PerkSaver available in business for KL622 on 12/24.

I didn't see the award class listed in EF's participating carriers either, but it does show they have 9 D seats available. nwa.com also shows KLM as available. (I didn't know you could do that, thanks again Patty).
So now the question is, do I want to make the change. I've never flown on a "lie-flat" seat. I do understand the angled issue and have read lots of reports about how the "angled" lie flat seats arent as good as the "true" lie flat seats. But I thought that the lie flat seats offered a series of seat configuration options, including the recliner-type option on the way to going flat. Is that not the case? Anyone else have any thoughts about the two? It's an overnight flight, so sleeping is the goal. Also, it will cost me $75 per person ($225 for all three of us) to make the change. I'm not sure that's worth it, although my guess is it's really a matter of opinion. |
