Book explaining flight landing and hold procedures etc?

I've been trying hard to remember the name of this intruiging book about how air travel is organized- does anyone remember this book that came out earlier this year or late last year which basically explains all the different procedures in simple terms for the general public?

I remember reading a review about it online (probably on Slate) and it had an excerpt in particular about how there was one airspace controller for all three San Francisco area airports, and how flights are handed over from one air traffic control area to the next, besides explaining the procedure for how planes are organized on top of one another in holding positions above airports before landing. It seemed to contain lots of simple procedures regarding flying and perhaps other modes of public transportation that people often wonder about. If you came across such a book please let me know what it's called!
