Biz class on a UA 757-200
 

Any thoughts on seats on a 757-200 (United flt 211)in biz class? I've checked both SeatExpert and Seat guru and they differ. Both talk about no floor storage. SeatExpert says row 1A&B are the "top choice row on the plane" while Seatguru has them coded yellow since there is "restricted legroom". thanks!

I think it's up to personal preference and interpretation. And you can check these photos of the non-p.s. 757 domestic FC:

Both seatguru and seatexpert can be kind of right. These bulkhead seats won't have anyone recline onto you, but your feet often have no place to go, or have to go into the cutout (which 1AB offers, but not 1CD).

I don't have personal experience, but my feeling is that it depends on how you like to sit and where your feet like to reside. If you generally sit upright, you probably want 1AB with nobody recline onto you. But if you like to recline and spread out, you probably want to have something else.

I avoid row 1 on the UA 757. Not sure if those cutouts in 1A/B are enough. The overhead bin space might be a concern.

The power boxes under the seats take up about half of the width of the foot room, but there is enough. You might want row 5 if you want to watch the video.

Those seats are called first class on that flight. Would be called biz class if going internationally, say to Guatemala.

I fly AA F domestic and I prefer aisle bulkhead seats on MD80s and 757s. I will take a little less legroom over a reclining seat invading my personal space but,

like <b>rkkwan</b> said, it's a personal choice. The way to think about it is this way, any seat in F is better than economy :-D.

The cutouts in row 1 might be enough. I'm 6'3&quot; and have long legs so I doubt that the room is good enough. OTOH, I was on a UA 767 in 1B last Sunday (I had no choice) and the foot room was ok without a cutout. Be the first one on the red carpet to board and have no worries about overhead space. There would be a benefit to not having a seat recline in front of you.

Keep in my, domestic first class on United is nowhere as good as business class on oveseas flights. I mention that because you have biz class in the headline.

Andrew, thanks. This is a ff tix thru USAIR Dividend miles on a UA flight with 2 classes of service...coach and whatever you call the other. Even though its domestic, on my return flight I'm on a 777 with a 3 class plane and a &quot;real&quot; first class, flat bed and all.

If you are spending 45,000 miles then you should be in business class on the 777 (booking class=XC). Otherwise, it would be 60,000 to go in F.

USAIR Dividend miles program charges 50k miles for Star Alliance flights and only books in first class or coach. They won't do biz class for some reason. This is the 2nd time I have had USAIR miles and used them and both times it was 50k for 1st class. They consider the flight out on the 757, a 2 class plane, as first class, not biz. As I said the return flight on a 777 which is a 3 class plane, is booked in a first class seat. If I was using UA miles I could have booked biz class for 45K.

Flew in seat 1B and it worked out just fine. No legroom problems and I liked being able to prop my legs on the wall every now and then. Thanks again for all your advice.
