BF Service LAX-JFK on UA v. CO

Am flying to HNL EWR-HNL out on CO and back HNL-LAX (on CO), LAX-JFK in BF.

I am used to CO's BF service but my LAX-JFK leg is on UA. Just wondering how the service/seats/amenities compare.

Thanks in advance for any info.

UA's LAX-JFK is p.s. service, which should be very nice, with older-style international business class seats.

Your worse seat will be CO on HNL-LAX, which has domestic FC seat on a 738/739.

I normally do direct EWR-HNL, but BF/F was sold out on the dates I wanted, only coach avail. Am now questioning whether I should have just coached the whole way direct on CO. Been reading disparaging things on flyertalk.com re: UA...Thoughts?

Sorry - I am questioning my flight to HNL. It is EWR-SFO on CO, SFO-JFK on UA. I could have done a direct coach EWR-HNL but changed that leg to split the flights to get F/BF legs.

CO has modified BusinessFirst service on its 767-400 service on EWR-HNL and IAH-HNL non-stops. For transcon service between EWR and LAX/SFO, selective flights use the 757-200, and those have the BusinessFirst seats (and about 50% chance you even get the new flat bed); but aircraft type is not guaranteed. Everything else is domestic First Class.

UA runs their 757-200 p.s. service on their JFK-SFO/LAX transcon, which have the business-class seats.

I should add that if you're elite on UA/CO and can get the AB seats in the mini-cabin on the 767-400, they're pretty great. Here are some photos I took last week (Photos 12-14 are those Y seats):

Sorry to be confused, it appears you are in bulkhead, is that correct? I am elite, but only silver and fear not getting bulkhead if it is sold through or taken by golds/platinums, which was never an issue prior to their change in policy, hence being apprehensive about taking the coach straight through to HNL. I was looking and I could just do EWR-HNL connecting through IAH on F/BF which I know the service quality of. I am weary of UAs BF service...

Comments, or am I just being a PIA and over thinking.

I was in 14A, the last row in the mini-cabin on the 767-400 (20/235) configuration.

United's p.s. transcon business class service between JFK and SFO/LAX is pretty well regarded.

Ok, I will leave it then. I am just being a pain I think - I just didn't want to cash as many miles as the EWR-SFO-LIH segment cashed. For some reason it was 85K miles on that segment rather than 75K. The EWR-IAH-HNL is 75K, but then I'd have to grab another flight to LIH on Hawaiian.

Then again, I'd take the coach direct EWR-HNL if I felt more assured I could get bulkhead as it used to be prior to putting them for sale and restricting silver elites from booking until 24 in advance.
