has anyone ever booked a flight through bestfares.com? i understand you have to pay a membership fee. is it worth it?

I also saw someone mention that after paying for membership, they got no better deal.

I joined last December because I was shopping for 5 (yes, five) tickets from the U.S. East Coast to Italy. I ended up buying 3 of the 5 tickets through Bestfares. I got a great price (haven't seen better since), but wasn't thrilled with the process. It seems that most of their US-Europe tickets must be purchased via telephone and not on their web site; LONG, long, long waits on hold (I paid $60 to wait on hold for 30 minutes plus?!!!); one of their reps was EXTREMELY difficult to understand on the phone because of their lack of english language skills (NOTE: I have absolutely no problem with people for whom english is a second language, but I literally could not understand this person, which was a big deal since I was about to spend $1500 with their company!); and the most desireable flights seemed to sell-out moments after being publicized. All things considered, I won't be renewing my membership.

I saw a great deal for a fare on Bestfares.com so I joined the club and then when it came to the details when booking it did not suite me at all. I cancelled my membership and was refunded . you can cancel within 30 days.

Yes, you can get a full refund of your membership fee within 30 days if you don't book something. It worked great for us on our trip to Germany last June. You can try it, and if you don't find anything, just cancel within 30 days and get your money back.
