Best seat in Air France business class 777-300 airplane, LAX to CDG, in row 4?

I posted this many months ago, but I thought I would try to see if anyone new had some input. I just read a bad review about these seats, so I just want to throw it out there....

I noticed that the new business class cabin on AF 777-300 is divided, there are 2 rows of 2-3-2 then there is a buffet on both sides and a bathroom on only the one side. Then the rest of the 15+ rows are behind the two buffets and the bathroom.

Seat guru says this "forward mini cabin" is desirable, so I chose the 2 seats on the side with only the buffet and no bathroom (4A & 4B). At first on seat guru, it appears that there is a great space between the first two rows and the rest of them as seen on seat guru. http://www.seatguru.com/airlines/Air...ng_777-300.php

However, when you look at AF's layout, it looks as though the buffet will be right behind my seat! http://www.airfrance.fr/common/image...ax_maxi_en.gif

Will the buffet be right behind me with people milling about????

I took seats 4A and B because I read 4k and 4l were undesirable because of the lavratory.

Has anyone has experience with these particular seats??? I can still change them.

Thanks a bunch. I am a neurotic over planner.

You might have more luck getting an answer on the Flying Blue discussion sub-forum on www.flyertalk.com. That forum is chock-full of frequent Air France and KLM flyers (many of whom will be flying business class on long haul flights).

Looks like there is a divider behind your seats:

Behind you is a divider. Then it's Door 2L. Then, the galley. I doubt you need to worry about anything.

Thank you so much everyone! This is the best info I've gotten so far. The photos of the interior are amazing, so helful! We always fly Continental in business class and their configuration is 2-2-2, so I thought that this seemed a bit cramped since it was 2-3-2, but it looks fine. We've never flown more than 7 hours the Continental flights, I just got worried since it's 11 hours on this plane. Most of the grievances are marginal food, rude or inattentive flight attendants and limited in flight entertainment. That I can deal with, but people hanging around my seat waiting for a bathroom or the buffet would drive me mad! I guess I'll stick my husband in the aisle just to make sure LOL.

I've been on biz class on AF from LAX to CDG several times, and they're all good. I just booked my parents on this flight in biz for September so I'm glad to see the new layout and the opinions.

Surfergirl, how is the AF arrivals lounge at CDG? I heard they have a hot breakfast-I'm all about the free food LOL!

I recall they had poached eggs. There are cheeses and cold cuts. It's more extensive than what's provided in terms of breakfast in the departure lounges but it's not a full cooked breakfast.

The lounge itself only has a small seating area. It mostly consists of shower suites.

It's landside at the very left end of 2C past the check in counters as you walk toward the direction of 2A.

Thanks for the info Patty! Last year I was blown away by the buffet in the Emirates lounge at LGW, wow, what a spread! They are definitely living good in that lounge. It's funny, if you buy a business class ticket to Paris it costs $3,000-$6,000, but we never stop to think that our two FF tickets actually cost us $200,000! So, considering that, I'm thinking bring on the free food and perks-LOL ! I go to the lounges even if I only have 5 minutes, it's like darn it I'm getting that free soda and stuffing some tea bags in my purse to boot! :D

They have 6 types of Fauchon teas in the AF lounges. Make sure you get at least one of each ;)
