Best place to sit in Singapore and Lufthansa ecomony class
We are a family of 5 from Australia who will be flying with Singapore Airlines and Lufthansa for the first time.
The Singapore Airlines aircraft is a Boeing 777-200. The Lufthansa aircraft is described as an Airbus Industrie A340-300.
As we leave in 2 weeks' time, I am going to phone Singapore Airlines and Lufthansa and attempt to reserve our seats. I normally try to get 5 seats together in front of the wing.
Would anyone be able to advise me as to which seats I should try to reserve please?

Can't help with the Lufthansa, though on the 777-200 we recently did 2 flights and have flown on their 777-200's a lot over the years.
The seating is 3 x 3 x 3, so with 5 you are going to get 3 say on the left or right and then 2 in the centre.
You could try for I think it's around row 62/63 ( cehck on their seatmap ), there you have, where the aircraft narrows the last row with 3 on the left and then 2 rows with just 2 behind, so if you had the 3 on the left and the 2 behind, that would be perfet.
I say the 'left side' for an important reason, on the 777-200 there is 1 wc/washroom at the back, and that is on the right side ( looking forward ), so if you get the 3 on the left and the 2 behind you are close to the galley but don't have the issue of people queuing next to you for wc/washroom.
On the daylight flights they service drinks & nuts after take-off, towels etc, then the luch ( with choices, usualyy a western and an Asian main course ), then before arrival SIN it is usually a Pie or Asian snack.
They come round with soft drinks regular, if you take those sats back left you can easily get extra drinks etc as near the galley, though separated by curtain so it doesn't disturb you.
Note, inbound into SIN most will arrive T3, some on ocassions arrive T2, so just note that if you are connecting. T3 is large but I still prefer T2. If you have to change terminals it is easy as there are 2 places the transfer train goes from in T3, one near B gates and 1 near A gates. They dispaly gate arrival well before landing.
SQ still have good footrests and the new l/blue blankets are about the best.
We did SIN-BNE and back and although we always like SQ and can say they both rank as 'best flights ever', superb service ! Enjoy !
If you haven't signed up for SQ Mileage ( Kris Flyer ) do sign up before you travel, a card for each of you and you can get mileage.
Hope that helps - others can tell you about the Lufthansa, all I can say is that it is 2x4x2 though towards the back they may have 2x3x2
so that would be easy with 5 of you.

Here you go
http://www.seatguru.com/airlines/Sin..._777-200_2.php
Rows 62 and 63
The row 51 and 52 you may be tempted, but I can tell you that area gets crowded with people quieing for the washrooms and also the poor guy in 52C I am sure was getting his feet knocked by people going to/from the wc !!
We were 4 so we had 3 on the left and 1 aisle in the centre ( lucky the other 2 seats were empty ! )
