Best Coach Seat
With the number of airlines that travel to Europe, please record your experience with the airline with the best coach seat. Name the airline and if possible, the type of plane.

Just the seat?
It'd be Air France's 777-300ER. Bottom seat cushion slides forward when one reclines. Most comfortable seat in regular coach I've been on. The A/V programming is pretty good, but not AVOD. Also, the screen was pretty scratched up, odd as the plane was very new when I was on it. |
Different travelers want different things.
Do you want Frequent Flyer miles? If you do, fly American or United since they have the better FF programs. Do you want free alcohol in coach and decent food. If you do, fly a foreign airline like BA, Virgin or Luf. Do you want good movies? Then fly British Airways or Virgin as each seat has their own television and they have a much larger selection of movies to choose from. Do you want a flight where the pilot turns off the fasten seat-belt sign and flight attendants are professional and nice? Then fly BA, Virgin, of Luf. Do you want a flight where the announcements are kept to a minimum so you can sleep during the flight, then fly on an international carrier. U.S. airlines are required to make loud announcements every time the Fasten Seat belt sign is turned on. But, it answer to your questions, the best seat on the plane is the one with an empty seat next to it. |
I really, really don't know where Wally gets his information from but it's so bogus that it's more and more becoming comedic.......

"The best seat on the plane is the one with an empty seat next to it."
Only AAFF would call that information bogus. |
Just flew BA today Heathrow to JFK. Totally full plane, but the last 4 rows are two (not three) on the sides. The seats are relatively comfortable, the food good, free drinks, the attendants were very nice, and a HUGE selections of good movies. Much better movies than pay-for-view on Time Warner!! With the plane that full and I am not complaining, it was a good flight.

I agree! I flew to London in December and the movies on the plane are now on Pay Per View.
