Berlin to Paris
 

What would be the best airline to fly one way from Berlin to Paris considering that we will need to check 2 bags and looking for the best price overall?

Air Berlin shows me a fare for one person one-way from Berlin to Paris for 139€ with two checked bags (you get one free and have to pay 70€ for the second bag which i have thoughtfully included in the 139€ quote). Travel day is some random day in September. Of course there are scores of other airlines that service Berlin-Paris and anyone that helps you out is going to end up going to those different airline sites and check the fares and fees just like I did.

Bill, our friends who live in Europe are always saying we should fly Ryanair but we've never tried them. I know that in some cases, they fly into/out of more remote (smaller) airports rather than the big mega ones like FRA.

Ryanair can be cheap BUT you have to read the fine print carefully, else you'll end up paying more than a Lufthansa ticket. For example, they charge 35€ (IIRC) if you show up at the airport without the boarding pass you printed off when you checked in online.

I just checked...Ryanair doesn't fly from Berlin to Paris (unless you want to fly to one of the cites they do fly to first then connecting to another flight and another until you get to Paris which means buying multiple tickets).

2 people, 2 bags to check in total and we would be traveling at the end of May.
Not wanting to use ff miles- just looking for the best deal.

Air Berlin and its subsidiary, FlyNiki, are likely your best bets in terms of price/convenience.

So each person is checking one bag? No problem. You can get on-way tickets for $130 and up per person with a free checked bag.

Just go to kayak or orbitz or wherever you go to research your airfares. Since it is an international flight, all the major airlines will give you a free checked bag. Watch the weight restrictions though (normally 23kg).

The "little" budget airlines are getting so big that the established carriers have to compete on routes where they compete head-to-head (or wing-to-wing.) Look at www.skyscanner.com, which covers no-frills lines, and you will see the cheapest non-stops Berlin-Paris for some dates come from Air France.

If you are looking at best price overall, then just find the flights that may work for you, and then go to those airlines' website to find luggage fees. Add them up, pick lowest. Do
