Beer in checked luggage - oops!
 

I flew to St. Louis from Detroit over the weekend. Just to make sure I had a real beverage on entering Bud Town I put a couple of Heinekens in my checked luggage. After arrival, as I waited outside the terminal for the hotel buggy, I noticed some drips from my checked bag. Sure enough, one of the cans had leaked almost it's entire supply into my bag. Fortunately I put all of my clothes in ZipLoc bags. I should have put the beer in a ZipLoc also, but no damage was done. In fact, the TSA guy started to say something about the beer but let it go. His first thought was correct.

I hope the people with baggage next to yours were as fortunate as you were at avoiding any issues with the leakage.

That's why I pack everything in plastic bags! Once I saw something leaked into another bag - it was on a bus trip.

I have had beer all over the UK and Belgium, and I know I call it REAL beer. I am sorry that you disagree. :p
