Be afraid - be very afraid:
Stacked seating on the way:
http://www.slashgear.com/stacked-air...fying-0955576/ Ryanair will no doubt love it, and I suppose it's much the same as old-fashioned sleeper-trains, as in the movie Some Like It Hot. Buit if they're going to go this far, they might as well just give everyone a knockout pill at check-in and zip 'em up in bodybags to stack for the flight (and all handily ready-packed in case of a crash!). |
I wonder how do you get down when you nee to use a restroom? Do you leave you shoes on the floor before you go up?
Also, ladies would probably have to switch to trousers... |
Maybe it's because I have such a small amount of flight experience (1 time on a Cessna 4-seater, 1 RT west coast to east coast U.S. on a 'big' plane)...but this doesn't look that bad to me. Granted, I'm not generally claustrophobic so I can see where that would be difficult for some people.
But, if it's not a safety issue: 1) I like the idea of there not being any middle seats. 2) Unless the photo is only of a stacked first class cabin it would be nice not being in a vast 'sea' of people (and if I, or someone else, was coughing and hacking there is that divider to contain it). 3) The fact that the seats do lay down without my head being in some stranger's lap would be a bonus. It would be interesting to know from all you experienced travelers what the negative/positive aspects of this would be. To me it just looks a little like something off of Buck Rogers. LOL! ;) |
Can't see Ryanair going for it as boarding & exiting will be a real pain.
I can see it appearing on long haul as a premium economy class |

They'd probably charge you for getting off. |
Unfortunately, the "window seat" is a middle seat as far as getting in and out, only more awkward. Of course, I wouldn't mind being in the aisle seat if some gorgeous hunk was laying next to me and climbing over me to get in and out.

LOL, evecolorado! ;)

They'd charge for the ladder |
Well, at least it looks like they've improved the seat pitch :-D
