baggage on EasyJet
 

Hi everyone,
I bought a 20kg weight allowance on EasyJet, and I want to take it in two suitcases instead of one, but it is not clear from their site if that is legitimate or not, as they all the time refer to "one bag" of 20kg. Does anyone know anything about this?

You can take 2 bags - if you pay for them - but you are limited to a total of 20kg unless you pay in advance for the excess.

EasyJet website spells it out pretty clearly. There are fees per bag, and separate fees for extra weight over 20kg total.

As alan said, the fee you paid allows you one bag up to 20kg. You can check a 2nd bag if you pay an additional fee for it, still limited to the 20kg total weight. If you exceed 20kg then you will pay 10GBP per kilo excess weight fee.

Thank you very much for your helpful responses. I know that 20 kilos are the maximum, and I also see now that that fee is for one item. But I still don't see in their regulation what would be the fee for 2 items weighing 20 kilos in total. I would not have asked here if their customer service would answer, but they don't so I'm sorry that I have to ask in forums... thanks again

I don't know whether the fee differs among routes, but here's what I find on trying a one-way EDI-STN flight.

First piece if pre-paid: 9GBP
First piece if pay at airport: 18GBP
Saving: 50% if pre-paid

Second piece if pre-paid: also 9GBP
Second piece if pay at airport: also 18GBP
Saving: also 50% if pre-paid

So, you can assume you'll pay double the cost of that 1st piece you already paid for, if you wait to pay at the airport. You should check your itinerary online right now and see if you can add the 2nd bag, coz if you can do that, you'll just the same as what you've paid, and half what you will if you wait until you get to the airport.

I went through the booking lots of times already - they don't have an option for 2 items weighing 20 kilos, just 1 for 20 kilos or 2 for 40 kilos.

On the page entitled "Add your flight options" you have things like insurance, you have an option "add luggage". Click that. If you are getting a message of "2 for 40 kg" then that means you've selected 2 passengers
