BA March 25 JFK to LHR lving 9:55am. Think it will go?
What do you think?
|
Hi Elainee. I'm no expert, but hubby & I are booked on BA from LHR to MUC. So, I just went to the BA site & according to the FAQ, it says long haul flights, such as yours, will still operate because the crew on those flights are not in the union that is striking. I wasn't specifically looking for that info & could have read it wrong, so you might want to check it out.
Good luck, Julie |
I did not see that on the ba website. Good info...thanks.

BA has been rebooking people on long haul flights. They seem to have a schedule they THINK they will be able to fly. I would suggest OP call and see what they say.

The BBC was reporting yesterday that something like 2 out of 5 flights managed to go out on the LHR-JFK route yesterday and 3 of 8 (or something like that) got out to Rome. There's a discrepancy in news tonight-- BA is saying 50% of flight crews crossed the picket line so more flights are able to get out than BA originally anticipated. However, the union is saying it's more like 10% crossing the line and flights that are going out have less than full crews. Even the BBC appears unsure about which data are accurate.
I have absolutely no idea what any of this might mean for your flights from the US, especially since they aren't for a few days. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that BA has equipment and a scab crew on the ground in NY for your flight. I can report from personal knowledge, though, that I have been in two European airports over this weekend and the lines at the BA counters were massive. I suspect these are people trying to rebook flights, as Carol mentioned. |
NO!!! Cancelled, did not get a notice from BA. Now scheduled to go at 7:20pm NYC time. Not easy to reschedule. I hate to fly overnight but....
