Atlanta airport restaurants

I have a 3-hour layover at Atlanta. I am thinking that I would like to have a "nice" dinner there in a restaurant if possible (NOT Burger King, etc.).

Any recommendations are appreciated. I will be departing from Concourse E.

I found this on the Airwise site. Don't know how current it is but it's for E concourse:

Burger King - Burgers
Images Lounge Bar & Grill
Mandarin Express - Chinese choice
Mo' Better Chicken - Fried chicken
Le Petit Bistro Café bar
Pizza Hut - Pizzas

Drinks

Carrybean:

Thank you so much for taking the time to look that up and list it for me. I appreciate it very much.

The "Images" sounds like it might be a "real" restaurant type place. But unfortunately, the description on the website is very vague.

However, I'm sure we won't go hungry.

Thanks again for your very kind help.

FYI and for everybody's else, every major airport and that includes many of the major airports in the world, have websites. Most are great as they have terminal maps, info on connecton and also list and in many cases description of hotels, shops and restaurants available.

Just do a Google

Here is the Atlanta site:

Sad to say, but there really aren't any "nice" places in Hartsfield-Jackson. Its either fast-food chains or TGI Fridays' type places. Considering how much traffic goes through the place you'd think they'd try to step it up a notch.

That said, its pretty quick to go from one concourse to another, so you don't need to feel locked down in Concourse E. Unfortunately my favorite place in the airport, Atlanta Bread Company (it in itself an Atlanta chain) is located back in the main atrium of the airport, meaning you'd have to go through security again if you went there...

There used to be an Atlanta Bread Company in Concorse D... not sure it's still there, but you can look on the directory.

There is at least one sit down resturant in each concourse. Nothing fancy, but you can kill a little time having a meal...

Thanks again for all the replies.

I should have mentioned that I originally checked the Atlanta airport website but I was looking for suggestions from experienced travellers anyway.

I'm sure we'll find something to eat ... we won't starve.

Thanks again for all the helpful replies.

you will find not find a nice meal at ATL, you will find very busy chain restaurants that are very mediocre.

I've been flying through ATL regularly for 5 years, I don't think I've ever had a decent meal there, ever.

I agree with others - there's no great restaurant at ATL. My opinion is that Houlihan's is the best of the worst. Web site says it's at A25.

I am topping this because I recently read about a new (and purportedly good) place opening at ATL. But, I can't remember where I read it and I didn't see anything new when I was rushing through last week. TIA!
