"OP" = "Old Person"?
You rapscallions and whipper-snappers! You've severed my grip on the final vestige of dignity!
My ignorance unstaunched, I become a broken figure, obliged to fork out the extra dinarii to wander West in late August (rather than early August).

August 14 is a happy day for me, at least it was in 1987. That's the day when I broke up with a major LOSER, and subsequently I met Mr. P_M.
It's also the day I began my Swiss/French hiking trip in 2004.
So August 14 is a very good day for travel, even for OP's like you.

To the OP
Have you done a "flexible dates" search on your chosen airline website? Are you sure it's just the one date, or is it all days within a week or so of the 14th? Just wondering. Certain days of the week are costlier for flying, I do know that.
