Anyone know a painless and cheap way to pick up 50 American advntage miles

I'm sitting 38 miles short of 50K miles. I don't have any travel plans upcoming other than a free ticket I want to book. The lowest denomination of miles AA sells is 1000 miles for $27.50. Does anyone know of some survey or promotion to sign up for where you can get some quick extra miles? I'd prefer to avoid paying $27.50 or booking another flight. Thanks.

Buy something with your AAdvantage CC.

Go to aa.com and click on Aadvantage - maybe buy some flowers for your Valentine? Oops... too late?

Sign up for Aadvantage Dining (free), go out to dinner and charge it to the registered credit card.

I think if you join Points.com you can get some miles IF the promotion is still going on. Check at aa.com

Note those kind of miles are often rather slow to post to your account; don't know when you'll need them.

If you're only 38 miles short, AA is pretty good about "lending" it to you. Just call AAdvantage and they will book the flight for you. I was 500 miles short at one time for 150,000 mile award and AA did it. Of course I have a long history with AA so that's why they allowed 500 miles but I was told that anything under 50 miles is ok for everybody.

AADIning miles usually take 10 days to 2 weeks to show on my account.
